Amazing opportunity to study in Australia
The Moana Nui goddess Hina was the deity of the mhina, moon. She was the foremost moon scientist of ancient times. Her clan possessed the Indigenous knowledge ...relating to the moon cycle. In the Tongan tradition, the dark spots on the moon is the goddess Hina pounding her tapa under an ovava (banyan) tree. Mhina, the Moana Nui name of the moon, is based on the name Hina (M-Hina). Returning to the Indigenous knowledge of the moon is also a process of making visible the female knowledge that was erased by the Western naming of the moon phases. All the Moana Nui moon phases indicated the appropriate t-v (time-space) for planting, fishing, seafaring, etc. The phases of the moon marked (t) time in space (v). #Tvism #TVTheory Tongan Moon Phases Vahevahe o e Mhina Faka-Tongá (Sources: Masiu Moala 1994: 238-241; Ko e Kava mo e Koloa Faka-Tongá 2006: 23; Ko e Talamalu o e Fonuá 2013: 39; E.E.V.
