This #FeatureFriday, we are congratulating Shidler alumnus Damian Davila, MBA ‘09, on his recent promotion to marketing manager at CBRE, Inc. In this role, Damian serves the Pacific Southwest Marketing Team and works with sales professionals in the Hawai‘i region. He is the lead marketing consultant on business development initiatives for CBRE in Hawai‘i. . Damian has more than 12 years of experience in all aspects of marketing and advertising. He focuses on marketing and bu...siness development strategy, tailoring business proposals and presentations to address demanding real estate challenges for prospective clients. He contributes to all aspects of the pursuit process, including project management, graphic art direction and proposal and pitch execution. . Damian joined CBRE in 2017 as a researcher for the Southern California and Hawai‘i regions. During that time, he was primarily responsible for developing the quarterly Hawaii MarketView reports and executing various research assignments. In 2018, he became the senior marketing specialist for CBRE in Hawai‘i. Prior to working with CBRE, Damian executed marketing projects in the private, non-profit and startup sectors. . Calling all Hawaii alumni! Join us for an online event on June 18 at 11:30 a.m. to learn about upcoming plans for the new Atherton YMCA project. During UH’s New Live, Learn, Work Center, guest speakers Monica Umeda, co-founder of Akabotics and Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship - PACEHawaii alumnus and Susan Yamada, BBA ’82, director of UH Ventures will provide an update about the project and current PACE initiatives. The new live, learn, work center will bring entr...epreneurial-minded students, statewide, under one roof. Open to all UH Mnoa students, the space will house 300 dormitory beds, co-working spaces and prototype labs for UH startups in the Atherton YMCA. This #FeatureFriday, we'd like to extend our congratulations to Courtney Choy, BBA ‘18, for being crowned Miss Hawai‘i 2021 and earning her J.D. degree from UH’s William S. Richardson School of Law this past weekend! We got to know Courtney a little better in an exclusive Q&A (http://ow.ly/YGhE50ERT22) about her time as a Marketing, Management and International Business and Freshman Direct Admit student at Shidler College. She also told us what it's like competing in pageant...s, her favorite sweet treat and shared her future plans. Shidler taught me what it means to be a team player and to exude confidence in a diverse array of situations such as presenting in class or interviewing with employers. I used the professional skills learned at Shidler in law school when I presented oral arguments for classes, participated in interviews and worked with individuals from multifaceted backgrounds. Similarly, Shidler prepared me for the on-stage phases of competition at Miss Chinatown and Miss Hawai'i.
