Due to an increased vaccine supply, Kaiser Permanente is happy to announce that we will be opening an additional 500 appointments each day on Friday and Saturday at our Kapolei Theatre location. We opened this site on March 30 and have been steadily working to ramp up appointment availability. These additional appointments bring us to 1,500 doses per day by Saturday. Today, we helped Special Olympics Hawaii's amazing athletes, including Cassilly Woll (in yellow shirt), get their COVID-19 vaccination at our Consolidated Theatres at Kapolei vaccination site.

Our physicians and staff were grateful for the opportunity to provide COVID-19 vaccines to the community with the Big Island COVID-19 Task Force and the Hawaii County Mayor’s Office. Together, we vaccinated 500 people at the Kaiser Permanente Kona Medical Office last Saturday.

We held another great food distribution event at our Waipio Medical Office on Sunday. 500 boxes of fresh produce, protein, and dairy were distributed to benefit Unite Here Local 5 workers struggling financially due to the economic impact of the pandemic. The food distribution is part of the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box distribution facilitated by Ham Produce and Seafood.

We have close to 2,000 COVID-19 vaccination appointments available Thursday through Saturday this week at our Kapolei Consolidated Theatre location. We continue to work on steadily ramping up appointment availability. We are prioritizing those 50 years of age and older now in advance of the opening to Phase 2 on Monday.
