Ironically this was filmed on a plantation. I know when I hear the word plantation it gives me a heavy feeling. In my travels I have found that not all plantati...ons were bad, not all carry the same connotation and baggage as others. It also made me think of the power of art, perspective and interpretation. In the spirit of HOPE in a time of great despair, in the spirit of unity when that too can seem quite rare, in the spirit diversity when all one sees is adversity, in the spirit of faith, family, & above all LOVE. This was filmed at the home of a soldier, an officer and a veteran one of the first female graduates of West Point. A woman I greatly admire for her grit, her business acumen, her athleticism and above all her kindness. She is a total badass and the epitome of a Coradorables model, she is to me a role model. Her father too a respected veteran is featured in this film. They welcomed me and my ohana into their home with open arms and for this I am eternally grateful. All of the men, women and children featured are my friends and family. Each one featured embody and personify the Coradorables brand. Mothers, Fathers, Daughters, Sons,Sisters, Brothers, generations of leaders, artist, veterans, athletes, activist, teachers, musicians and scholars. Each one of these people inspire me and to each one of them I am eternally grateful. To Todd Lagoon the videographer and my brother from another mother who is always able to help me execute my vision even when I do not fully know what it is. Every flower, every print, with the backdrop of our Hawaii home highlighted because THIS is Coradorables. This is our America, diverse, beautiful and strong.
