WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT POIPU? A better question is when is Poipu not great? The Christmas Holidays are the most popular. School is out beginning mid-December and this is a great family vacation/reunion time. Expect sunny days with high temps of 79 or 80 with lows in the high 60's.... January through Mid-April is also popular, especially with the families from snowbound locales. Easter week vacations are busy. Expect mostly sunny days with highs in the high 70's and lows in the mid to high 60's. There will be some rain. Mid-April through Mid-June is less crowded. The weather is usually mild with strong trade winds. Expect highs in the low 80's and lows in the low 70's. Mid-June through Labor Day is popular once schools close for the summer. Kona winds can bring hot days but most days will have cooling trade winds. Expect highs about 85 and lows about 75. Labor Day through Thanksgiving is also less crowded, although Kauai Marathon week and Thanksgiving week are popular times. Sunny days in September and October with highs in the low 80's and lows in the low 70's. After Thanksgiving through mid-December is the least crowded and most economical time to visit Poipu. Airfares will be lowest of the year and the weather is usually great with highs about 79 and lows about 70.
