tThis is the last wedding I shot before Covid shut down the industry. It was one of the best ever for many reasons....

Our 20th wedding anniversary. Usually we share photos that we created for our clients but this is us in front of the lens. We had a wonderful photographer and went to our favorite place in the entire world. I haven’t posted on the EMotion Galleries social media for over a year Because on this date.... Literally, during this photo session we received countless calls and messages from our clients canceling every single booking we had into the year 2022... I never posted t...hese photos out of sympathy for all of those couples who were not going to get to celebrate their own wedding day as planned with their family and friends. A year has passed, so I will now share this photo and what it has been like for us.... clear the questions why I haven’t posted and get on with new hope. The government set up a program for people who are self-employed independent contractors and gig workers Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) However Any individual that earned more than $130 in 2019 working for an employer who took taxes out of their paycheck is not eligible for PUA. I went in and helped the public school system for one week in 2019 Because I went and taught in a special education classroom in 2019 I did not receive anything from PUA as a self employed person. So for the last year my typical income has been less than $80/month... people don’t believe this when I tell them because many of people are collecting thousands a week from PUA... but you can read here https://labor.hawaii.gov/covid-19-pandemic-unemployment-as/ So I have since March pivoting and seeking other employment. Through all of this I have been very grateful for where I live I could still see the beauty of nature every day. I am grateful that I had companionship with my husband and my cat. I am grateful for technology so that I could video chat with family.
