Save the date! Saturday JANUARY 6 in the heart of Hilo. Hlau hia will be hosting our third Workshop series! A extremely special oli workshop titled "Oli for... Renewal & Restoration" taught by our very own Kumu Kekuhi! For all levels of chanters. #HalauOhia #Chant #Oli "Everyone CAN chant, a quote from my grandma Edith Kanaka’ole. More details will be released soon! There will be two workshops on Jan 6th. Both will cover different material so you will have the option to sign up for 1 or register for both with a discounted combo price. Restoration and Renewal 1: 9:00 am - Noon Restoration and Renewal 2: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm The facebook event and link to register will launch very soon. And more info will be posted. Space will be limited to 40 participants per workshop so make sure to sign up quickly! Proceeds from this fundraiser will help the continuation of Hlau hia. Mahalo! And happy holidays everyone! Outplanting at 10,000 ft elevation on Mauna Kea is no easy task. Mahalo Nui to our Dry Forest Hui Ohana for helping us put in the ground 900 Mamane trees on Mauna Kea to help our effort of Restoring Mauna Kea forests.
