Looking for another area you need to visit while on Maui? You should visit Iao Valley! Iao Valley is a lush, stream-cut valley in West Maui which is considered a very special and spiritual place. Did you know that Iao valley was home to major Hawaiian battle? In 1790 the battle of Kepaniwia which was led by King Kamehameha I took place here and lasted 3 days.... Iao Valley is also home to a beautiful Korean temple which is open to the public. The hiking area is unfortunately closed but the park is still open so bring your lunch and maybe your swim wear and go for a dip in the river! #hawaii #maui #vacation
