However we ARE holding a casual group ride on the course Saturday June 20th. * Mee...t near Green World Farms at 7 am. * Roll out around 7:30. * Ride in small groups, solo, or spread out only, no big pelotons please. * Ride to end around 10:30, or whenever folks feel done. * Share the road, obey all traffic rules. * Bring a mask and wear it when you are entering Green World Farms for coffee and snacks. RACE - Next Saturday- Malaekahana 40K TT - 6/6/2020 Race is on Saturday 6/62020 - here's the message from Ben: Malaekahana Time Trial... Hawaii State Time Trial Championship June 6, 2020 Malaekahana Beach Park This is a 40km individual time trial. Riders will start at Malaekahana Beach Park and head towards Kualoa Ranch to Kalaeoio Beach Park (between Kaaawa Elementary School and Kualoa Ranch’s surf gate) on Kamehameha Highway where riders will u-turn and come back along the same route (20km out and back). No drafting is allowed in any category. Riders must maintain a distance of 12 meters (approximately 15 bike lengths) at all times unless passing. Riders have 30 seconds, or 500 meters, to complete a pass. Once passed, the overtaken rider must immediately make rearward progress out of the draft zone (distance of 12 meters). Racer meeting at 5:45am. First rider off approximately 5 minutes after meeting concludes. *Updated categories** Individual time trial female and male categories: 7-8. 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Road bike categories: female and male open (awards for top 3 overall) Fixed gear: female and male open (awards for top 3 overall) *Fixed gear must have working brake* Handcycle: female and male open (awards for top 3 overall) Para athlete upright cycle: female and male open (awards for top 3 overall) Tandem: Open category (awards for top 3 overall) First time riders: female and male open (awards for top 3) *Road bike rules: no wheels deeper than 40mm, no aerobars, no aero helmets **Junior riders 15 and under will complete the 20km course for the State Championship, riders under 11 require an escort. We can help assign an escort. ***Race number bib used for timing purposes. No bib number, no time. Please attach number upright and centered in low back. Watch any UCI pro road race and copy that. Do not rotate 90*, keep upright. Registration fee schedule: residents of Koolauloa race for free (96730, 96731, 96717, 96762). All other athletes: Before March 1: $40 Before April 1: $55 Before May 1: $65 Before June 1: $75 June 1 June 4: $85 Junior and first-time athletes: $35 through the end of packet pickup. Juniors and first-time athletes will race a 20k course along the same route. Register by May 1 for guaranteed swag. Registration closes with packet pickup on June 4 at 6:00pm.
