Where’s the conscience, where’s the compassion, where is the effort to stop this madness?

Now, this is how to start your Monday morning. Much thanks to my friend Priscilla T. Gomez for purchasing a Yoshio abstract painting/saying, a 5x7 pic/saying, and treating me to a huge bread pudding dessert. Yummmm!!! My friends are a blessing on my life’s journey.

On Thursday a woman quietly entered my shop. She appeared interested in my artwork and sayings so I started a conversation with her. She looked Asian, but had an accent I couldn’t recognize. Turned out she was Cambodian, but lives in Australia. She said she quit her job to start a cleaning business. I told her she must have a lot of employees. She replied just my parents and myself. Wow! I told her I was impressed and inspired, and she thanked me. She said she took pride in her work, and was very busy. I was surprised when she told me she was Buddhist, and was interested in purchasing one of my sayings. She spent a lot of time reading my quotes, and we both agreed this was the right one. We thanked each other and bowed politely in mutual appreciation. Love my daily encounters.

Busy, busy, busy, creating new abstract sumi ink paintings with hand lettered Yoshio sayings. Stop by the Hilo shop to see what’s creatively going on. I would love to talk art with you, or if that doesn’t interest you, we can just talk about life. After all, we are all on our own personal journeys

No, this is not the same composition I posted two weeks ago. That one was sold to my friend Ellen from Texas. Showing this newly made piece to ask if any Hilo friends have any Japanese maple leaves they would like to share with me. Thank you!
