The Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunrise 15.12.2021

This past Monday’s speaker was Charter member and Past President Doug Carlson! Welcome back to the club on Zoom from Idaho! Doug’s talk topic was Finding Truth in an age of Uncertainty; what’s a citizen to do? Many of you may remember Doug as the voice of Hurricane Iwa and Rolling Blackouts on emergency radio with updates from his role at Hawaiian Electric. Doug’s been a reporter, media consultant, press secretary, communications manager, public affairs officer and knows the press and ins and outs and all things PR. Thanks for sharing your morning with us Doug! And today we welcomed and initiated our newest member, Kurt Katada, with classification of Architect. Kurt is with Ferraro Choi and Associates. Welcome Kurt!!

In 2020, the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunrise Celebrated our 30th Anniversary. Our friendship club, the Rotary Club of Niigata Bandai, had planned to meet us in Honolulu at the 2020 Annual Convention to celebrate. Since they could not come to Hawaii, recently their members gathered for a warm and heartfelt welcome message from the their club and individual members on our 30th Anniversary. Our club viewed the message and our members were so appreciative of the Niigata Bandai spirit in this COVID-19 time, and their message to all of our members to keep up our spirit, energy, and support for our communities and projects--and all look forward to seeing us again soon, when the time is right. MAHALO Niigata Bandai Rotary!.
