California’s ban on assault weapons ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!! Like the Swiss Army Knife, the popular AR-15 rifle is a perfect combination of home defense weap...on and homeland defense equipment. Good for both home and battle, the AR-15 is the kind of versatile gun that lies at the intersection of the kinds of firearms protected under District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008) and United States v Miller, 307 U.S. 174 (1939). Yet, the State of California makes it a crime to have an AR-15 type rifle. Therefore, this Court declares the California statutes to be unconstitutional. See the ruling here: https://pdfhost.io/v/bV2sjdRcQ_DECISION.pdf

"Codenamed Operation Overlord, the battle began on June 6, 1944, also known as D-Day, when some 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region." https://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/d-day

David Yamane’s Concealed Carry Revolution is a myth-busting educational look at the history of carry rights in the US. One of the fear-mongering talking poin...ts we hear passed around the gun community is once you lose a right, it’s gone forever. It’s simply not true and there is ample evidence to refute it, on many issues. It creates a defeatist attitude & promotes a victim mindset. It could also create a sense of desperation in some that could lead to unwise or dangerous behavior. @davidyamane’s book does a great job of documenting the history of restrictions on our right to carry defensive firearms going back to Colonial Times and especially through the 1800’s. The examples are plentiful, as is the evidence that subjective and preferential application of laws throughout the country probably meant that those in power didn’t worry much about restrictive the rights of those who weren’t. Yamane’s concise and informative book goes on to document how, beginning in the 1980’s, we began regaining carry rights. The movement got a full head of steam in the 1990’s with the adoption of shall issue permit laws requiring background checks & training. The demonstrated responsibility of Millions of Gun Carrying Citizens over the past few decades, combined with the growing political strength of Gun Owners & many organizations representing us, has lead to a new Constitutional Carry (Permitless) wave that is rolling across the country, just as the permit-to-carry wave did in the 90’s. From less than 2 Million people legally able to carry concealed handguns in the 1980’s, we could be at 50 Million soon. Yamane briefly explores the great differences in permit requirements from State-to-State and devotes a noticeable amount of space to the vast differences in the way counties in California deal with issuing permits. Yamane concludes the book with an acknowledgment of the uncertain future of carry rights, but clearly demonstrates that the trend is towards more freedom, not less... and the Supreme Court has been stacked in favor of Gun Rights with a big case on the topic of Concealed Carry now set to be heard. If you care about gun rights, read this book.
