Vance, ‘Ohana Groups Pastor, has been on staff since May 1 of this year. Our ‘ohana group leaders had the privilege of hearing him speak last week at our OG training. When he isn’t working, he enjoys taking his wife out on drives along the coast and having dinner later! His favorite Bible verse comes from Philippians 1:6, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. We’re so glad to have Vance a... part of our New Hope Leeward family! What else do you want to know about Vance?

For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again! 1 Kings 17:14 NLT After God’s warning of a drought, Elijah is sent to be fed by a widow who is down to her last portion of food for her and her son. In this verse Elijah is reassuring the widow of God’s promises. Even in the widows desperate circumstance, being near death from starvation, she ...feeds Elijah first and puts her trust in God knowing that He will provide. As God puts me through my journey, He is constantly providing more than I need. If I am put into a dry season of my life, in every difficult situation, my normal reaction is to complain. I end up going into panic mode when I should be going into trust mode. I know God puts me in these situations because it is His plan to grow and strengthen me. I am always reminded after the fact how much God has done for me. I am so blessed, yet I always find myself full of worry and excuses. I think I can’t do something because I need this or I have to do something else first. The widow had nothing and yet, she fed Elijah first. I have never lacked and I should remind myself the Lord is all I need. I should remember to be content with what I have knowing God has never left me. Each step of faith is a step closer to getting out of the drought and receiving the miracle God has waiting for me. Lord Almighty Father, Thank you for your word to grow us and strengthen our character. Thank you for your grace for me as I complain everyday about nothing. Thank you for always giving me more than I need. Please help me to be content with all that you have provided me. I pray that I do your work with wisdom and knowledge while always being positive. In difficult times please remind me to immediately come to you and pray first. Please allow me to be open to You and hear Your every command or request for me. Please guide and keep me on your journey for me. I pray for these things in Jesus’ Holy name, Amen.

We have another baby dedication coming up on Saturday, June 19th. There is a required orientation class on Sunday, June 13th. Both events are at 2:00pm and both are on Zoom. This is a great step to take if you are ready to commit to raising your keiki according to God's word and God's ways, and it's a way for us to partner with you.
