Chaz's 'Concert Under The Stars' Fundraiser Series

Pictured is my Tt, the late Joanne Antonio (Whilani-Keamoai-Codea). This past June 1, 2020 marked the 12th anniversary of her passing. A day I’ll never forget and never want to relive. She taught me to stand up for what I believe and never let anyone tell me otherwise. Though her physical presence is absent, I know she’s here each step of the way. I miss her laugh, her smile, her wise remarks and her hugs. Cherish the ones you love for tomorrow is not promised. She is one of the reasons why the annual college scholarship fundraiser is held. A scholarship in her name is awarded to one graduating senior at Nnkuli High & Intermediate School. #GoneButNotForgotten

Adhering to the Department of Healths recommendation for confined areas and the possible spread of COVID-19 I last minute made the decision to POSTPONE today’s event to a later time. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused! ... Here’s the 1st fundraiser of the year. A Zumba event... you’ve all made the lose weight, feel great resolutions. So come workout with us! And it’s for a great cause. We’ll have door prizes and light snacks/drinks for purchase as well. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Joanne K. Antonio & the Frank K. K. Meyers scholarships. The scholarships are given on the behalf of the Antonio/Meyers ohana and only offered to graduating seniors of Nnkuli High & Intermediate School applicants. We hope you folks can join us for this awesome event!

During these unprecedented times, we hope you are staying safe, healthy, finding new ways to stay busy and 6 feet apart! Now is the best time to start on those "Honey Do Lists" or complete those projects you've had dormant in the corner. In celebration of Mele Manak (Merrie Monarch) week or should I say what would’ve been my gang and I would like to share our annual daily group photos with you all through the week. If you follow us, you would know everyday is a different color scheme. And let me tell you, people watch for us to see if their guess of the evening colors are correct. It’s quite entertaining, just like us. We have been making the trek together for 7 years now. Like many hlau we start our planni...ng process the year prior. We collectively choose our daily activities to include craft fairs, eateries, places of interest and scenic views. On the first travel day (Wednesday) we’d wear the annual MM t-shirt of that year. In doing so we’re often asked to which hlau we belong. We’ve joked with various names which I will not mention (funny ones). But in retrospect we are just that, a hui. We gather, we learn, we grow, we mlama. There have been many whom have joined in on this journey, some remain and some astray. But with or without the show must go on.
