JUST IN: Beginning Nov. 24, travelers coming from the mainland must have COVID19 testing results BEFORE leaving for Hawaii, Governor David Ige has announced. T...he change is due to at least 34 travelers testing positive for COVID19 AFTER arriving in the state. Under the current rules, travelers were allowed to provide test results within 72 hours of departure for the last leg of the trip to Hawaii--meaning some travelers received results after arriving in Hawaii, but had to quarantine until negative results were verified. The change is due to the "dramatically increasing number of COVID19 cases in the United States and around the world," Governor Ige said in a news conference this afternoon. Travel restrictions on Canadian travelers will also be lifted, Ige said.
