Good luck George...but we already know you are no ka oi!! Maui’s slack key guitar master George Kahumoku Jr. is nominated for Hawaiian Slack Key Album and Christmas Album. Maui Slack Key Christmas is a collection of holiday songs featuring four originals, plus some of George’s favorite traditional hymns, and Christmas classics. I’ve always enjoyed playing Hawaiian Christmas and religious songs, says George. And Kahumoku Priest of the Land comprises a collection of original songs written for loved ones, dear friends and special places.

Remembering my Daddy Herb who left us 2 years ago. We had his memorial on May 1, 2015. Surrounded him in a beautiful pu'olu i made for him, with the help from K...umu Holoaumoku Ralar who taught me how to create this and shared her own ti leaf too to go with mine. His resting place was in the beautiful blue seas off Lahaina, on a warm, lovely morning two years ago. The pictures show him on a happy day when he lived in Kaanapali and loved his golfing, and his pu'olu on his final voyage at sea on May 1st.
