It makes me a proud CEO of Love the Journey as I announce that we have crossed another milestone in the history of our program. This month is Love the Journeys 20th year of establishment. I take this occasion to thank each person for being an earnest part of Love the Journey. What began as just my wife(Melinda), and me and later our children, has been able to achieve countless accomplishments. Without the support of our community, Love the Journey would have never been. Every one of you has played a very important role in the development of Love the Journey. It is for your enthusiasm, support and dedication that have brought us to this height. Loving a drug addict or an active alcoholic is the hardest thing you will ever do. Watching someone you love, that has fought so hard to beat addiction, throw e...verything away & sink back into a life that will most likely lead to jail or death, is one of the hardest things. You want to grab & shake them & say "What are you doing?!?!" But, at some point you realize that it wouldn't make a difference. So you sit back and watch the tragedy unfold, as if you are watching a movie. Feeling helpless to stop it, feeling like you haven't done enough to help, even though you know only the addict can help themselves. Battling a drug and/or an alcohol addiction is a beast for the person addicted & the ones who love them. So l am asking you to stand with me in prayer for every family member & friend who has lost or is losing their battle with drugs & alcohol & those who continue to conquer it! Put this on your page for one hour if you know someone who has or had an addiction. Many will be hesitant to copy & paste this. Some of you won't paste this but I think I know the ones who will. Today i am developing a world of peace for myself, both inside and out. Today I know that I am always only one breath away from peace, one prayer away from serenity.

I choose to be in places and situations and with people where I feel good about myself. I deserve to feel good and I trust that my heart will tell me where to go.

I celebrate myself today. I am alive. I am growing. I am willing to do all I am able to do to be the best of who I am.
