There is never a convenient time for a flat tire. One of the unwritten laws of driving is that flat tires will always happen when you can least afford them. More than 50 million Americans have flat tires every year. So what is one to do when experiencing a flat while driving? First things first, get off the road safely! Keep a firm and steady grip on the steering wheel and don’t oversteer to correct swerve or pull. A front flat tire usually causes the car to pull towards the ...side of the flat and a rear flat tire tends to cause the back of the car to swerve. And whatever you do, DO NOT slam on the brakes which could cause you to lose control. To stop, take your foot off the gas, steer firmly and if you must brake do so smoothly and easily.
