Aloha! "Our home in the heart of Kona" is officially open for business. Short Term Vacation Rentals have been closed to 14-day quarantine guests since March of 2020. But good news is on the horizon. Hawaii has just launched its pre-arrival testing program on October 15, 2020, allowing visitors who present a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival to bypass the State’s 14-day mandatory quarantine policies. ... While the overall pre-arrival testing procedures are the same, some islands have extra steps in place that visitors need to be aware of. Two of the most significant are over on Hawaii Island, better known as the Big Island. The Big Island Will Require a Second COVID Test for Arriving Trans-Pacific Passengers Even if you have a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of arrival, the Big Island will still require you to take a second test upon arrival in order to avoid quarantine. The on-arrival test, which will be administered at all three Big Island airports free of charge and deliver results in about 20 minutes, is an extra line of defense designed to protect the island from an accidental outbreak. Short term vacation rentals are not opened for any 14-day quarantine guests. This means if guests have to be quarantined, they cannot stay at Kona Plaza. **AS OF OCTOBER 15, 2020, HAWAII IS NOW OPEN TO TRANS-PACIFIC TRAVELERS. Our goal is to allow at least 24-48 hours between each booking to allow the cleaning and sanitizing of the home. **If for some reason you do not want the dates blocked in between bookings please inquire and we will do our best to make adjustments.
