The activist group in attendance included W.E.B. Du Bois and Ida B. Wells-Barnett, and brought forward an organization that has pushed toward racial equality through protest, legal action and public attention.

On this day in 1972, Congress sent the Equal Rights Amendment to the states for ratification. The proposed amendment to the United States Constitution was designed to guarantee equal legal rights for all citizens regardless of sex.

This is a good start. Public Safety has had no disclosure and oversight for years, and it needs to have more transparency. They claim for safety reasons. But they don't look at inmates as human beings, I believe.
