Milestone Tuesday! You may notice at almost every visit, we discuss communication milestones. We’ve encountered many bilingual households which is amazing! Growing up in a bilingual household does NOT increase the risk of speech delay. Just because they know more words in another language compared to English, does not mean they are delayed. We count the total number of words in both languages combined. We will try to get more bilingual books for you folks! We have a small collection of Native Hawaiian books and hope to continue to expand our collection! #keanuenuepeds #forthekeiki #welovebooks #olelohawaii

Do your children have career goals? Wrenny already decided she wants to be a firefighter. While our young ones may change their minds multiple times, support whatever their little heart desires. You go Wrenny! What do your kids want to be when they grow up? #keanuenuepeds #forthekeiki

Some of you already met her via Klara or in person on Fridays, but we wanted to officially introduce Dr. Courtney Taum. She’s helping Dr. Honda on certain days until Dr. Waipa returns. We love her! She is a very close friend of Dr. Honda. Not to mention another Native Hawaiian Pediatrician You might know her as the Palaka Rocka co-founder. Call her the Palaka Rocka Doctah! Lol. Please welcome Dr. Taum to the Kenuenue ‘Ohana.

Before watching, who do you think goes down the slide first? A. Wren, B. Wren’s baby, or C. Both Wren and her baby. Slide safety! Please do not go down the slide with a baby. Even if you hold them, it’s not safe for an infant. For those old enough, teach them to go feet first to avoid head injuries. Keep in mind the material of the slide as metal and even plastic slides can get quite hot and potentially burn your child’s skin. Last but not least, have fun :) #keanuenuepeds #forthekeiki #slidesafety #dontcopyWren

In light of everything that happened this past month, we wanted to do something for our little angel. To raise awareness on premature babies and maternal health, we will be joining the March of Dimes virtual walk on May 15th. Join our team and walk with us. Link in bio. By all means, you do not need to donate. Your thoughts and kind wishes have meant everything. #keanuenuepeds #forthekeiki #forprematurebabies #foroz

Milestone Monday! Again, thank you to everyone for reaching out to us. We truly feel the love. We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately regarding when babies can actually see. Or what is normal in regards to their vision. Here are some helpful tips! Wrenny can definitely see us in this pic 1-2 month, start fixating on large shapes and faces. You may notice them locking eyes with you. They see your face better close up. 3-4 months, start to see more of a difference in... colors like red and green. Start to focus on smaller objects 4 months- start to have better depth perception 6 months- should no longer go cross eyed. It’s okay if they were doing this before! But as long as it doesn’t persist past 6 months 12 months- should be similar to adults. Yay! #keanuenuepeds #forthekeiki #stayingstrong See more

Wellness Wednesday! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Please remember to do something good for your soul. Dr. Honda has to admit that she has NOT been doing a good job with wellness for herself. So learn from us! Take a moment. Clear the mind. And do something fun. Kids need it. Adults need it to. #keanuenuepeds #forthekeiki #mindset #shakabrah #dontpinchme
