Over 80% of individuals living with #MentalIllness are unemployed. We need your help to create a world where people living with mental illness can experience re...spect, hope, and opportunities. If you are a business owner or hiring manager, we invite you to partner with our Clubhouses to offer opportunities of gainful employment to Clubhouse members. https://bit.ly/3fNGoxG #Clubhouse

Join us in celebrating Clubhouse expansion in Israel. In 2004, a working group started gathering at the local public library. There were only six members. Toge...ther, the group learned the Clubhouse model, went to training, and established a work-ordered day. In 2014 they became the 1st Accredited Clubhouse. Today clubhouse amit in Afula, is a social and vibrant community with over 100 members! Together, members and staff run impressive employment, education, and community-volunteer programs. The Clubhouse has an excellent advocacy team that meets with students, businesses, teens, and more to help reduce stigma and market the Clubhouse movement to stakeholders and communities. During Covid-19, Clubhouse Amit Afula continued its activities through Zoom meetings, home visits, and the preparation of gift sets for isolated members. Despite the difficulties, they were able to celebrate in the Clubhouse the traditional party of "HanukkaChrismas." The Clubhouse community consists of people from all religions, working side by side together for the benefit of all. "We look forward and hope that people of all kinds live together in harmony and with respect to one another. In Clubhouse Amit Afula we fulfill those values on a daily basis, let's hope other people understand that this could be done, everywhere, everyone, every day." - Yuval Taler #ClubhouseWorks

Dietitian Anaise Soltren returned to our Clubhouse today to share some tips on Eating on a Budget! We also learned how to cook a quick and easy Egg Drop Soup. It was yummy-licious!

Dietitian Sharon Dela Pena returned to show us how to create healthful dessert alternatives to add to our Clubhouse menu. We baked Fruit Cobbler (the meringue was from made from canned chick pea liquid!), Chocolate Pudding (from avocados), Coconut Macaroons (mashed bananas substituted for oil), and Cookie Dough (from chick peas!). They were all amazingly deeelicious! Look at all the happy faces!
