A team of Kalalea Anehola Farm Hui Members passed out Covid-19 Care Packages to their current 40 Hui Members this week in Anahola. Members received handmade masks, a box of gloves, toilet paper, store gift cards and stay home treats! Our farmers market will be voluntarily closing on April 26th for a month or so until the virus passes and more vendors can return to support the Hui. Remember Kauai to stay at a distance and stand united!!

If youd like to support our Gifts for Keiki program, you can donate items at the market on Sundays or at The Kaua‘i Store in Kapa‘a now through Dec. 1st. If youre looking for ideas The Kaua‘i Store has some great locally inspired, designed, & made items from local crafters!

As per William Aila, DHHL Chairman. We are ok to stay open. Our current and new hours of operation are Sundays and Wednesdays from 10am-2pm. Only farmers and food products at the moment with following conditions: PS: 9am-10am is our Kupuna Hour: for Kupuna only to shop in a safe environment.

Just as a confirmation: The Kalalea Anahola Farmers Market will be open tomorrow from 10am-2pm and will keep operating as usual. The The moratorium on county lead events at county properties does apply to our market. We know this is a hardship for our local Kauai farmers and their ohana who have now lost several weekly events and invite them to join us at our regular Sunday markets in Anahola. It was loads of fun for everyone. Auntie Aggie wanted to pass on a heartfelt mahalo to everyone who helped make it possible. All of us made this successful event possible! To the KAFarmers Hui Staff: Carol Lovell, our Event Chairperson, directed ...us to success with precision planning & donated our amazing Christmas tree, Alton Nomura, our Treasurer, helped organize the money and Venue with perfect lighting and the vendor spacing, Kainoa KAF Hui Vice President, provided stage muscle and transport and also set up and Santa Claus’ Chair, Santa was Jolly Hari Kalsa and Head Elf was Sylvia Cole with Crissy Marti, Kim Donohue, Chloe and Cruz Ayonon as Elf Helpers. Tim Hand for the cute fliers and positive publicity, Lily Eden who volunteered her creative skills for the awesome decorations, Aweepano Satow for her planning advice and moral support, John Kaohilaulii our Konane man and gift donor, Kuuleialoha Punua and Rae Makanani Nam from KKOA who bought and wrapped multiple presents, Keoni, Tim Reese and Director, Megan Fox from Malama Kauai who helped us shop for over 300 gifts and donated decorations and planning time. Nathan Apuna our site Manager and his parking staff Ave, Chelsea and Arian kept the cars flowing, things tidy and vendors organized, Cholena and Chenoa our pretty landscapers and of course all of our most loyal vendors who also donated toys for the Keiki. A huge Mahalo to the DHHL for our Hawaiian Homeland site and the many monetary and service Donors like Mr. Kurt Last from Aliomanu, Colby and Maja Ayonon from Kauai Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Noalani and Jerry Nakasone, T&R Trophies and Nathan Kalama's gift donations and jackets, Joe Enrique who let us use his big farm lot for parking,The Kamehameha School’s, Erin and Shane Cobb -Adams for our much needed tent and the donated stage from Punana Leo. A Special Mahalo to the Home Grown entertainers, Michael and Kawehi for their heavenly voices and sound equipment, Tepairu Manea’s Tahitian drumming and the beautiful dancer, Heuru and Keiki, Kumu Hula Pua Gomes and Alaka`i Mauliola Cook and all the spectacular hula Keiki from Kanuikapono school and Halau Papa Laua'e O Makana, Chelsea and her flamming Fire Dancers and of course, the jamming Hawaiian music and vocals of our Northshore kane, Del Seager, Kaimi Hermosura and friends. We’ll be helping to sign up local kupuna at our Saturday and Sunday farmers markets from 10am-2pm. We’ll have all the paperwork available onsite.

The Kalalea Anahola Farmers Market will be voluntarily closing until further notice in response to COVID-19. Come join us this Sunday, April 26th for our last market. We will endeavor to reopen as soon as the board deems it safe to do so. Mahalo to our farmers and our patrons and hope to see you all very soon.

We will be operating an additional day for the next several week so as to help our farmers supply to community with fresh produce.
