We are soon opening an Art Gallery : Kahekili Art Gallery The gallery will feature art work ranging from pencil drawings to paint drawings and other art such as Hawaiian purses, ear rings, opihi art, Flower & Shell Lei's, Jewelry Boxes made from rice and bread that works as a tacky glue to assemble these pieces of art together; bread is formed into flowers and dried to a hard clay like piece and finished with paint and lacker or varnish. All these art collections are done by... Hawaii Inmates doing time on the mainland in Saguaro Eloy, Arizona. There's a whole nest of artists on the inside that are very, very, very talented. A lot of these inmates are way beyond a level that really leaves all in a jaw-breaking impression! All of these pieces of art are done in an instance, but takes a lot of procedures to be approved in order to have it sent out to their respective destinations. So do know that much of what you will see were all done with great risks... e. g. On some pieces of art that these inmates produce are colors not taken from a jar made from a vendor, some of these artists are banned from making some of this art due to prison rules that needed to be applied but were over-looked because of the individual inmates belief as a co-creator and innovation. Some of these pieces were made using rice, bread, game pieces to produce color for their paintings, jewelry boxes, etc., and rules are no food is to be taken from the "chow hall". These innovations are produced by first orchestrating within their heads as an architect would when he/she is producing a layout of blue print. For an inmate it has to be done within their heads without writing it on a piece of paper because such drawings may be mistaken for drawings for escape, conspiracy, and what have you...taken way out of proportion and then investigations are conducted and there goes another artist in punishment.
