A Poem About Real Estate I totally want a condo. Look at that cute little heritage house. Those hardwoods! That trim! ... I totally want an older house. I could get a yard. I could plant a garden! I have now pinned 62 thousand gardening ideas on Pinterest. That bathroom needs some work. I am addicted to bathroom reno shows on HGTV now. I have sent my realtor 12 listings that have pretty old hardwood floors. My realtor reminded me that I want a condo. I convince him I need a big old house. I am spending more time on real estate sites than on actual work. My realtor tells me maybe I need to stop looking until I am ready to buy. I keep looking at all the houses. Dial it back. Stop obsessing. That real estate site just emailed me a new listing. It has floors. Pretty ones. I love it. I have emotionally moved into it. I have decorated it on Pinterest. I have picked out my furniture. I can picture my life there. I sent the photos to my mom. I live there now, basically. It’s been on the market 10 minutes. I am addicted to it. I have viewed it 83 times. It sold tonight. I am devastated. My life is over. I’ll never find another one I love like that one. I am going to delete all my Pinterest boards. That’s it. No more looking ever again. Be reasonable. Ok, I am serious. Am I serious? Time to get serious. I sent my lender all my info. She is asking questions. This feels so invasive and uncomfortable. Ugh. I hate this. Maybe I’ll just rent. That real estate site just emailed me a new listing. It’s a condo. I totally want a condo. *I wrote this 2 years ago. I bought a condo.
