Sitting here thinking about how I followed my purpose and ended up teaching through 2 pandemics. The first was during my very first year as a teacher and I crie...d so many tears in the bathroom stalls. I pulled so many all-nighters preparing materials, trying to make the next day better than the day before. I helped families and other teachers create successful learning pods, and creating my own textbooks and curricula led to me being a celebrity teacher in Korea. Now, because of COVID, I am forced to return to the States and I can't help but smile. 12 years ago when I moved to Asia, I prayed to learn as much as I could so that I could help to improve education, especially in my own country. Now, I return, after having taught in over 30 countries. After being blacklisted for secretly teaching students in a dictatorship. After having successfully rebuilt education programs throughout Asia. After years of hearing "This is how its always been done" and still deciding to "show them." You never know what you are being prepared for. But, trust the journey. Do your best in the moment and then when you get to the next one, do your best in that moment. We're in this together. Love, Gahmya
