An Important Survey / Research to Bolster Hawaii Jewish Life: The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, (one of the largest philanthropic organizations in Hawaii, and a leader in providing for the needy) has expressed interest in the humanitarian needs within the Jewish communities of Hawaii. They have partnered with "Jewish Community Services", a non-profit organization (based on Oahu) to do an Assessment Research, to better understand the needs within the Hawaii Jewish comm...unity. Your 20 minutes can make ALL the difference! Ward Research, a leading Hawaii firm, has been contracted to do this survey. Take the survey here: WardResearch.com/jcs NOTE: ~ It is 100% anonymous. ~ Only 1 survey required per household. ~ It can help secure funding for important causes in our community. PLEASE take the 15-20 minutes to complete this brief, but critical, questionnaire . And, please share it with all your Jewish Hawaii Ohana. This will hopefully lead to the Weinberg Foundation investing in improving the quality of life for Jewish People living in Hawaii. Many thanks, Michoel Goldman

Did you know that today is "Second Chance Day"? No, not because President Biden proclaimed April 2021 as "Second Chance Month" (which is amazing synchronicity with the Jewish calendar!) but because dating back thousands of years, due to an event which transpired, today has become associated with Second Chances. Here's the story, but before the story... If you have any left over Matzah from Passover, have a bite today, and share with someone who may have missed the first one.... It's never too late to experience Liberation. Today is a Biblical holiday called "the 2nd Passover". (See Numbers 9:6). You probably never heard of it. Most Jews haven't. Don't worry. In short: There was a group of Jews, who were preoccupied with carrying Joseph's coffin out of Egypt, when the Exodus happened, and were not able to participate with the community in the Paschal Offering. (Joseph had requested before he died that they promise to take his remains to Israel when they are emancipated.) They cried out to Moses, asking for another chance to experience Passover. Moses consulted with G-d. The response was that exactly one month later they could "take two" and have another chance. Thus, the 2nd Passover is the Biblical holiday of "It's never too late", and there is "always a 2nd chance". Even if we didn't show up when we should have, for whatever reason, noble or not, we can always fix the past and give it our best, again! L'chaim to Second Chances! www.whitehouse.gov//a-proclamation-on-second-chance-month/
