The Coffee Store in Napili

Aloha Coffee Store Ohana! Wow! What a week- Christmas, two planets aligning, Kilauea erupting and a pandemic! Sounds like a good time to enjoy a delicious coffee drink and a baked good to escape from it all!! All kidding aside, I would like to address the recent news posts that a business owner within Napili Plaza had been cited for non-compliance.... I want to assure the public, that The Coffee Store in Napili is NOT the business mentioned in the news!! We are in the same shopping center, but rest assured, it was not us. The Coffee Store team is committed to adhering to the rules as they are given to us by State of Hawaii Department of Health. We appreciate the opportunity and chance to remain open. Many small businesses across the globe have not had that opportunity. My heart goes out to them, and I am ever-grateful that we have survived. In my deepest appreciation for that, I realize that with our privilege to stay open throughout this, we have a responsibility as well. Each day two employees on shift are given the position of communicating to our customers in person as they take orders and hand out customer orders. As stated by DOH guidelines, those employees are mandated to wear masks. We have abided by that mandate at all times. Those of you who follow us closely know there was one exception to this and it was dealt with ASAP. We find ourselves in turbulent times. So turbulent, that there’s NO correct evaluation on which way is up yet. We respect everyone’s individual opinions on it, and as baristas, trust me, we hear it all- the whole spectrum of thoughts. Our position, as always, is that we purposely choose not to choose sides - whether it be political, Covid, mask mandates, anything! What we love to do is make coffee and serve delicious treats to ANYONE who wants to patron our coffee shop. As always, we want them to feel welcome, cheerful, and satisfied. In this current time, it’s also very important that we make everyone feel safe. And to that end, we do require that our customers wear masks when in our vicinity. We have also had a few employees travel to mainland for personal reasons, and they were not allowed back in-house, on shifts, until they received a second negative test a week after their pre-travel test. If you have any questions or comments about how we are choosing to handle Covid-19 precautions, they are welcomed and will be answered promptly by Melissa. The Coffee Store in Napili is absolutely beyond grateful to still be open throughout all of this in 2020. It’s been our pleasure, ALWAYS, to be a part of the Westside neighborhood. We are so thankful and appreciative for your support!!! We promise to try our best to remain a neutral zone; with big smiles underneath our masks!!
