Hurricane season is here and NOAA is predicting a near-or-above normal season for 2018. For the season as a whole, three to six tropical cyclones are predicted for the central Pacific hurricane basin. This number includes tropical depressions, named storms and hurricanes. The outlook indicates that there is a 40% chance of an above-normal season. Please note that the outlook is a general guide to the overall seasonal hurricane activity in the central Pacific basin and does not predict whether or how many of these systems will affect Hawaii.
