Ellen is 59 and booked her #fabulous40over40 shoot because she said she's always wanted to do a shoot for herself. Her consultation was so fun and we just laughed and laughed. On the day of the shoot she was so nervous. But Amber and I knew we would show her how much fun she'd have. We put her in the hair and makeup chair and Amber did her thang. Ellen was already loving it. Then we started shooting and she was unsure about the outfit as she didn't think she could pull it off.... OMG! What??? I made a deal with her. Let me shoot her as is and then she can make us do whatever she wanted with the wardrobe after. Let's just say she teared up when she saw the first few frames and the rest of the shoot she absolutely slayed! She already wants to book her session for next year. This is my niece Kayla. She is a proud graduate of the class of 2020. @kamehamehakapalama could not hold the song contest that year due to #Covid-19. This would have been the first year that our son, who was a freshmen at the time, to experience the time-honored tradition as well. For a few of her senior portraits I wanted to recreate the image as if she was there. This is one of my favorite of her. Grandpa turned 100 years old last week. His granddaughter brought him in for a session in our studio a few months ago. When we went over their images they immediately knew they wanted this image big on their wall. Knowing which portrait to put on your wall is half the battle. They were a bit overwhelmed with choosing what type of print they wanted. Would canvas, acrylic or metal fit best in their home? How big? Framed or frameless? Wendy is our 7th participant in our Fabulous 40 over 40! She loved the idea and bought a session for her mom, Hyunh. Check a few posts back. This time her boyfriend @jeffuno24 bought her this session because he saw how much fun her mom had and how fantastic she looked. Like her momma, Wendy is also an entrepreneur. She owns @fureverfriendshi A doggy day care. They can also board your pup or kitty. She has maaaaad love for all furbabies and oftentimes her staff needs to ...talk her out of adopting all the furry friends needing homes. Your fur baby will have so much fun at daycare that they won't want to go home. Make Sure you follow them on @instagram so you can see the fun themed parties they have and don't forget the water play which is usually the most favorite activity. If you know Wendy doing this look is not something she would have done. But we had shot a few looks already and we were almost done with her session. Are we ready for some football? My husband @keokis10 has been talking to the boys and telling them they should just try out for football. My son Logan will be a junior this year. Having never really played or watched football is a scary idea to try out for the varsity team. But what amazes me about this guy is he is not afraid to try and put in the hard work and extra effort to learn plays and really just try his best knowing mostly everyone on the team has been studying, lea...rning and playing football probably since 5 or 6 years old. He understands his place on the team is the backup to the backup to the backup..if he's lucky. But no matter what he shows up to practice everyday ready to do whatever it takes to learn and absorb it all and make sure he is supporting his team in whatever way he can. As his photographer mother imagine my excitement when he is walking toward the car holding his wardrobe, excuse me his uniform. I couldn't believe it. Usually nothing goes home. You practice and leave it all at the locker room. They even wash it for you so its clean and ready for you the next day. I went to a public school and that did not happen for our football boys..LOL Yes I am aware that this is summer and it does not mean he will make the regular season team but it's ok. He's going to work his butt off for a spot but if not he at least tried something new. No matter what anxiety he was feeling that first day heading to the field for his first practice. HE.FREAKING.DID.IT and he will continue to do it until the end. I'm so proud to be this guy's mom. My reaction when I was watching the #LAClippers game yesterday! The @laclippers were down 25points. I know everyone thought it was over. I had to walk away for a little bit because the clippers has given me so much stress during the playoffs. But they fought back and ended up winning 131 - 119. Heading to the Western Conference Finals. First time in franchise history! My husband @keokis10 has been a clipper fan for over 20 years. It's been hard standing by him these pas...t years but man it's nice to them fighting and advancing. Who's going to be watching tomorrow's game against the @suns?? June Tamashiro was gifted this session from her family. She is a young 68 years old and will celebrate her 69th trip around the sun in a few weeks.
