First day of paid viewing at four of the great lookouts at Kokee and Waimea Canyon State Parks. One /$5 ticket for visitors gets you into all four: Waimea Canyo...n, Puu Hina Hina, Kalalau, and Puu o Kila Lookouts. Kamaaina are free but you need an ID. Most important is the machines and attendants don't take cash. Today there were two attendants at Waimea Canyon Lookout. One would periodically check the parking lots. So be aware there will be tickets in the future. It is all being monitored and things will be adjusted. And as always Kokee Museum has a trail map on the front porch available 24/7. Also there are a number of climate zones and you can't tell what the weather is like from that first lookout. See more
