Thanks for being a Great Safety Diver to the guys when you are out there. Prior to this capture (which was made using a Float) Ryan was able to assist his Buddy who had shot a fish on the Reel and had a Line bury and Jam things up. By the time his buddy clipped off his belt reel he was down to 60’ and already gassed. Ryan was able to unders...tand what was happening and immediately dropped down and grabbed his partner and assisted him to the surface, where he was disoriented and combative.. Close Call ended well thanks to Strict Buddy Protocol. Thanks for being on the Lookout. Guys.. Shooting YFT on the Reel is a rush and is fun when it all goes well. BUT.. it’s not the best match. YFT go straight Down and things happen real quick. Those are Big Fish, best matched with a Float. IF you want to try one on a Reel, you need to visualize all the potential scenarios, and talk them through with your buddies, you should have someone there with a Float or one ready to be tossed in from the Boat. You need to carry a sharp knife, and in the end, be willing to let go of your gun if things go south..
