Have you ever wondered What system in the body controls and coordinates all functions in the body? Yes, that’s right. That is the nervous system. What’s up everybody, Dr. Addison here with the Specific Chiropractic Centers, Kauai and Maui. Just remember when you’re here in our office and our whole goal is to restore normal function.... Some of you are compromised because you don’t have normal function, then your body doesn’t function the way it’s supposed to. Why is this important? Well, obviously with all that is going on right now, you would want to make sure that your nervous system and your spine and your immune system is functioning normally because you want to make sure that your body’s functioning the way it’s supposed to. When we restore normal function in the spine and normal function in the nervous system, your body restores its normal function. And that’s the goal of Chiropractic Care. As you know, we were hit hard with severe thunderstorms, flash floods. We had a tornado yesterday, but that won’t stop us from taking care of you. https://youtu.be/abZOh8b0cJY

Morning everyone! Dr. Addison Bulosan here to talk to you about Migraines and the connection to upper cervical chiropractic care. This type of chiropractic care focuses on a neurological connection. First, let’s get in to what migraines really mean. Migraines are not just really bad headaches. They are neurological in origin and have neurological symptoms in addition to head pain. Migraines often run in families. They affect people of all ages. Even babies as young as 18 mon...ths can have migraines. Women get them 3 times more often than men. Here Are some broken doWn stages of symptoms of Migraines. Migraine symptoms actually may start a day or so before the head pain is felt. This is called the prodrome stage. Symptoms may include the following: Being very tired or having little energy Depression Craving certain foods Yawning frequently Stiffness in your neck Feeling irritable Hyperactivity If you have an aura with your migraine, it occurs during this stage. This can include visual disturbances, and problems with sensation, movement, and speech. You may experience some of these symptoms: Problems speaking clearly Feeling numbness and tingling in your face, arms, and legs Seeing shapes, bright spots, or flashes of light Temporary vision loss Migraines have an attack phase next. This is when you experience head pain and other serious symptoms: Nausea and vomiting Increased sensitivity to light and sound Dizziness or vertigo Pain on one side of your head, or both sides in a third of the cases Pulsing and throbbing head pain This phase can last from a few hours to a few days. Symptoms may vary from person to person or attack to attack. This phase may overlap or occur during the aura phase. The next phase is the postdrome phase. This is sometimes called a migraine hangover. Most often people will feel moody and down. They may be tired and groggy. However, in some instances, you may feel very happy and upbeat, full of energy. A mild headache may persist. The length these phases continue depends on each individual. Sometimes a phase is skipped or an attack may occur and not be accompanied by head pain. This makes diagnosing and caring for them very difficult. If I am describing what you are going through, please message or call us today! We love to educate people on the importance of our body and help people feel better. Let’s figure out the best solution and plan together to help you have a better future!

--Kaua‘i to return to Tier 4 on Monday-- LHU‘E The County of Kaua‘i will return to Tier 4 on Monday after achieving low case counts for two consecutive weeks.... Last month, Kaua‘i saw a rapid spike in cases unlike anything we experienced before, said Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami. But our community pulled together to take precautions, get tested, and cooperate with the contact tracing and quarantine process. Through the joint efforts of our community members and our public health partners, we were able to contain the outbreak very quickly, and we are grateful for that. Tier 4 is the least restrictive on Kaua‘i’s current Business and Recreational Guidelines for COVID-19 tier chart. It allows gatherings of up to 25 outdoors and 10 indoors, with restrictions and safety guidelines. This tier change was automatically triggered after Kaua‘i’s daily case count remained below an average of two per day over the past two weeks. Kaua‘i had moved to Tier 3 in early May after a spike in cases. For more information on the tier system and the county’s COVID-19 regulations, visit www.kauai.gov/COVID-19. We continue to urge travelers and those around travelers to please utilize the free COVID-19 test center at the Convention Hall, urged Mayor Kawakami. Just walk in between 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. No appointment needed. If you haven’t done so already, consider getting vaccinated. Residents aged 18 and older are eligible for any vaccine available at pharmacy, hospital, and clinic locations. The Pfizer vaccine has been authorized for use in those 12 years of age and older, and appointments are available at Kaua‘i hospitals and pharmacies for this age group. Vaccination is free and widely available on the island, including on weekends and evenings. For details, visit www.kauai.gov/vaccine. Those who plan to travel can protect themselves and their families by being fully vaccinated before traveling. ###

--Kaua‘i proposes new Tier Chart for Governor Ige’s approval-- LHU‘E Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami sent to Governor David Ige a proposed update to the tier char...t. Mayor’s Emergency Rule 19, Amendment 3, would add a Tier 5 and a Tier 6 to further loosen restrictions. These tiers would be triggered by Hawai‘i’s COVID-19 vaccination rates. We know that vaccines are the quickest way for us to move forward, stated Mayor Kawakami. Our island took early, firm actions at the start of this pandemic which helped us build a robust vaccine program. As a result, Kaua‘i is leading the state with 48 percent of Hawai‘i residents now fully vaccinated and protected against severe effects of COVID. If the proposal is approved, Tier 5 would go into effect when 60 percent of Hawai‘i residents have been fully vaccinated, and Kaua‘i’s seven-day average case count is less than 3 with a test positivity rate under 1 percent. Under Tier 5, maximum group size limits would be increased to 25 indoor and 75 outdoor, and max capacity for businesses and activities would increase to 75 percent. Tier 6 would go into effect once 70 percent of residents statewide are fully vaccinated. Reaching Tier 6 will effectively eliminate the tier system on Kaua‘i, allowing businesses and events to be open at full capacity. Our counties are so closely connected that from a public health perspective, it makes the most sense to use the statewide vaccine average, particularly with the increase in inter-island travel, explained Kaua‘i District Health Officer Dr. Janet Berreman. County by county differences in vaccination rates are decreasing, and we foresee this model being used by other counties to continue to loosen restrictions. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, please consider doing it now to protect yourself and our Kaua‘i ‘ohana, and to help us remain open and safe. Vaccination appointments are now open to residents age 12 and older, with options on weekends and evenings, including several pop-up vaccine clinics from Hanalei to Kekaha. For details, please visit www.kauai.gov/vaccine. People who are fully vaccinated and received their vaccine in the State of Hawai‘i can now use their vaccine record to travel inter-island and be exempt from Safe Travels mandatory quarantine. Travelers are considered fully vaccinated on the 15th day after the completion of their vaccine dose(s). For program rules and additional information, visit: https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel/FAQS/ ###
