The City and County of Honolulu has just launched a Rental & Utility Relief program that will pay up to $2,000 a month fo...r rent and $500 a month for household utilities like electricity, water, sewer, and gas for up to 12 months. Applications are being accepted as of today, and will initially be accepted only from households with income that does not exceed 50% area median income for Honolulu or are 90 days unemployed prior to application date. With sustained limited supply and high demand, the number of single-family homes and condos sold over the asking price nearly tripled compared to March 2020.
