As you know, last year my wife and I and some close friends from Utah created a non-profit 501c3 called IHHELPP! I just returned from the Philippines about a week ago with IHHELPP after building, in a day and a half-- TWO DISASTER PROOF HOMES-- for two families (One was for the Stake President). Many lost their homes in the Tacloban area (where the hurricane hit the hardest). There were about 6,000 lives lost in the area. We took 8 boy scouts from Utah with us to help with... the building of the homes for their Eagle Scout project. During this trip, we were invited to the home of the Vice President of the Philippines and are in the process of presenting our disaster proof home concept to him to be accredited so we can help more families there and save more lives in the future. We witnessed NUMEROUS MIRACLES on this trip and one was to see BYU STUDENTS already there helping out! The Lord's tender mercies were obvious on this trip. We slept on the floor with people that lost everything. Very humbling. Another Miracle was the incredible missionary work we were able to do through service. We hired two drivers and both drivers wanted to take the missionary lessons because they were moved by the spirit after taking us around. Another miracle was that we were able to teach the local Filipinos how to build these homes as a source of industry for them because many of them are unemployed. These are only a few of the Miracles that we experienced that I wanted to share with you and President Wheelwright (BYUH President) because I am so proud to work with you and so many wonderful students.
