RED CUBAN PLANTAIN . I love these because they are super tasty and really beautiful when they are ripe (eat it raw like a banana) and also delicious to eat when they are green as a staple like potato (simply boil them). . There are 2 kinds im aware of. A tall variety and dwarf variety. I havent noticed much difference in the fruit so i propagate and sell only the dwarf as they are much easier to deal with and harvest (bcause they are shorter)... . Apparently its originally from South-East Asia! . Red Cuban Plantain anyone? . #fruittreenursery #fruittreeseverywhere #fruittreecare #dawrffruittree #dawrf #PlantMoreTrees #Plantain #RedCubanPlantain #RedCuban #NatureWorksNursery #Maui #FoodSustainability #MauiNoKaOi #FruitTrees #Permaculture #DawrfBanana #dawrfbananatree #DawrfPlantain #MauiTrees #PermacultureDesign #LoveTheAina #TreeMan #MauiLife #TreeCare #IslandLife @ Haiku, Hawaii See more

This is a Mango Wedge Graft in the making. . There are a few things that I teach my students to pay close attention to when grafting: 1. The scion wood must have a clean, smooth and flat cut. 2. The cambium layers of the scion wood and the wood stock must match (thats what we are verifying in this picture)... 3. You must tie it tight and seal it completely . Some of you may have no clue what I am talking about, but some of you who already know some grafting might. . We need more people who are wanting to learn how to graft and willing to practice to get good at it. Why? Because there are soooo many good fruit trees to propagate and I cant do it all by myself! So if you are wanting to learn, message me and I’ll keep you posted on our next grafting class coming up in a few months. . . . credit: @molly.mandala #PlantMoreTrees #MangoTree #NatureWorksNursery #Maui #FoodSustainability #MauiNoKaOi #FruitTrees #Permaculture #Mango #grafting #MauiTrees #GraftingTrees #GraftingMangos #ScionWood #WedgeGraft #PermacultureDesign #LoveTheAina #TreeMan #MauiLife #TreeCare #IslandLife #CambiumLayer See more
