Happy Earth Day! Each day we do our part, conscious of the things we can do to help preserve our Earth, for future generations. We run our Bed and Breakfast on solar power. ... The air conditioning in the rooms, which make them so refreshing after a day exploring out in the sun, runs on power from that very sun. Enjoy the warm shower after your day at the beach? Our hot water comes from solar panels which heat the water as it circulates through them, storing it in tanks, ready to go. Thirsty after a day at the beach? Each room is equipped with a glass bottle of water, and glasses, which can be refilled with filtered water at the upstairs kitchenette. Our breakfast is served on plates and bowls, flatware and glasses which are all reusable. The aluminum cans, glass and plastic, which guests typically bring with them or leave behind, go to the recycling center to be processed. We are always learning more about ways to lessen our carbon footprint, while offering a comfortable place for people to stay while visiting Maui.
