MCBH Environmental Compliance and Protection Division has seen a rise in beachgoers, and occasionally pets, getting too close to Hawaiian monk seals on our installation’s beaches. Any actions that may harass or injure monk seals are prohibited under the law and could be met with fines and even jail time. Please, remember to stay at least 50 feet away and keep your pets on leashes as you observe and enjoy these unique animals aboard our base. If you witness marine animal harassment please contact the Provost Marshal’s Office. #WeAreMCBH #EnvironmentalStewardship
