The body-brain connection is real. An holistic approach to your physical therapy can help deepen your understanding of your pain, movement habits, and your body in general. Take note on how body responses to stress, whether it is physical or the mental weight of daily thingsinstinctively our body shiftsmuscle tenses in your face & neck, your pupil dilates, heart rate rises, and your respiratory rate speeds up. If your body is constantly feeling stress...ed, this cycle continues. Take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. Here’s a quote from one of my fave books by @bessel_van: The body keeps the score. If the memory of trauma is encoded in the viscera, in heartbreaking and gut-wrenching emotions, in autoimmune disorders and skeletal/muscular problems, and if mind/brain/visceral communication is the royal road to emotional regulation, this demands a radical shift in our therapeutic assumptions. Depending on what type of support you may needworking with a holistic healthcare team may be beneficial for you i.e. a mental health specialist, medical doc, naturopathic doc, acupuncturist, massage therapist, nutritionist, yoga therapist, and/or chiropractor. I’m curious, does this speak to you? Comment below. See more

Frozen shoulder (or medically known as adhesive capsulitis) is very painful & inconvenient to deal with everyday. Here are some of the most common symptoms patients report to me! Does it sound like you? You may have frozen shoulder... Working with a physical therapist is helpful to get properly assessed & evaluated to differentiate from other shoulder conditions. Your PT will teach you about the diagnosis, find root cause, and implement appropriate stretching with manual therapy work (passive range of motion, soft tissue release, & joint mobilization.) Getting help helps!
