On Saturday, we collaborated with Kamehameha Schools Kaplama Campus to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to students boarding on campus. Mahalo to staff for coordinating the event to administer 42 shots!

Today, we helped Special Olympics Hawaii's amazing athletes, including Cassilly Woll (in yellow shirt), get their COVID-19 vaccination at our Consolidated Theatres at Kapolei vaccination site.

Due to an increased vaccine supply, Kaiser Permanente is happy to announce that we will be opening an additional 500 appointments each day on Friday and Saturday at our Kapolei Theatre location. We opened this site on March 30 and have been steadily working to ramp up appointment availability. These additional appointments bring us to 1,500 doses per day by Saturday. Our physicians and staff were grateful for the opportunity to provide COVID-19 vaccines to the community with the Big Island COVID-19 Task Force and the Hawaii County Mayor’s Office. Together, we vaccinated 500 people at the Kaiser Permanente Kona Medical Office last Saturday.

A Kaiser Permanente study of nearly 50,000 people with COVID-19 suggested that regular physical activity provided strong protection from hospitalization, intensive care unit admission, and death.

On Sunday, our staff showed their aloha by helping to distribute 500 boxes of fresh produce, protein, and dairy at Kaiser Permanente’s Waipio Medical Office. The food distribution is part of the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program facilitated by Hams Produce and Seafood and coordinated by Kaiser Permanente Hawaii to benefit Teamsters workers struggling financially due to the economic impact of the pandemic.

We are providing $400,000 in funding to increase COVID-19 vaccinations in Hawaii communities disproportionately affected by the pandemic. We’re grateful to coordinate with Hawaii Primary Care Association to support Bay Clinic, Inc. on Hawaii Island; Mlama I Ke Ola Health Center on Maui; and Kalihi Palama Health Center, Wahiawa Center for Community Health, and Waimanalo Health Center on Oahu.
