PHOTO SESSION TIP: I'll be posting helpful tips, each week, for families, wedding couples and models so you can look your best at your next outdoor photo session. LET THE LIGHT IN I've seen posts like this from other photographers:... "...don’t forget lots of mascara, at least 2 coats. Bonus points if you do false eyelashes!". The challenge with this is this. Light has a hard time getting to the eyes when there's more "stuff" (technical term) blocking it, like false eyelashes and mascara. Do a search in Google, to look for "model headshot makeup professional". Some of the best shots are models with a small amount of makeup, unless it's a dramatic close-up of the eyes. I feel the eyes are one of the most important aspects of a portrait...even if they're closed. Try not to lose the beauty of your eyes, while trying to enhance them. Less IS more. Remember, your eyes won't be as full or as open as they would for an indoor photo session. Your eyes will be protecting themselves from the sun. Go light on the makeup. Your photographer can usually remove blemishes and add color or brightness.
