--Emergency water service shutdown on Ka’apuni Road -- 2 P.M. (Final update) KAPA’A- The Department of Water (DOW) has restored water services to most customers on Ka’apuni Road as of approximately 1:45 p.m. this afternoon. Crews were able to isolate the water service interruption to one customer. Additionally, the partial lane closure will remain in place until approximately 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, as crews continue the repair work to the damaged service lateral. ... DOW thanks customers for their patience and cooperation during the emergency service shutdown. ### (03/29/21) KAPA’A- The Department of Water (DOW) announces an emergency water service shutdown on Ka’apuni Road in Kapa’a happening today from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., due to a recent service lateral break. Additionally, a partial one-lane road closure will be in place on Ka’apuni Road during the repairs in order to provide a safe work zone for repairs. Flagger personnel will be in place to assist with traffic control. Customers located on Ka’apuni Road should prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps: Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored. Notify neighbors, family and friends of the water service shutdown. Those with faulty water heaters should ensure their water heaters do not empty. Monitor service announcements online at Kaua’i Department of Water. An update will be provided if new information is received. --Water service shutdown scheduled for portion of Puolo Road on April 13-- HANAPEPE - The Department of Water (DOW) announces a water service shutdown scheduled for a portion of Puolo Road; from the intersection of Hanapepe Road to Kaumualii Highway, and includes approximately four customers on Kaumualii Highway in Hanapepe. Water service will be turned off on Tuesday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting. The water service shutdown is necessary in order to rep...lace a 4-inch mainline valve on Puolo Road. Customers located in the affected service area are advised to prepare for the service shutdown by taking the following steps: Store water to meet your needs until water service is restored. Notify neighbors, family and friends of the water service shutdown. Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty. --Partial lane closure on Kuhio Highway near Wailua Bridge-- WAILUA The Department of Water (DOW) announces a partial lane closure on Kuhio Highway; near the intersection of Kuamo’o Road and the Wailua Bridge, beginning at 11:30 a.m. this morning. The partial lane closure will remain in place for approximately 6 to 8 hours in order to conduct emergency repairs to a recent 16-inch main line break. Motorists traveling east on the double lane on Kuhio Highway will be merged on...to a single lane. There are no water service disruptions planned for the area at this time. --DOW main lobby reopens for bill payments-- LIHUE - The Department of Water (DOW) announces the reopening of its main lobby for bill payments and billing account services only, as part of a phased reopening on April 1, 2021. Bill payments will be accepted in the main lobby from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, except holidays. Social distancing and facemasks will be required for entry in the lobby and only 3 patrons will be allowed in at a time. Posted signage, floor ...decals and hand sanitizer stations will be in place to facilitate compliance of current health and safety guidelines. We appreciate our customers and look forward to serving those who need additional assistance with their existing water service account and bill payments, said Marites Yano, DOW Waterworks Controller. We encourage customers to continue to use online bill pay options and the payment drop box to help streamline their monthly payment process. DOW’s online bill pay service is available 24-hours a day via the Customer Account Portal at www.kauaiwater.org. Billing Services staff may also be contacted via email at [email protected]. For additional assistance from other DOW Divisions, an advance appointment is required. To make an appointment, call 245-5400 and select the appropriate Division. Those who arrive without an appointment will be directed to make an appointment. DOW’s business-by-phone hours are from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday, except holidays.
