Beautiful Spider Lilly from the garden.

Hiked 1.5 miles into the Okolehao Trail. Beautiful day! It took about 2.5 hours with a stop at the lookout for snacks.

Aloha Adventures... Julian Collado approached the booth and had a dream. He saw Jurassic Park II as a youth and wanted to recreate the scene where the girl was approached by a number of small dinosaurs. He sculpted the girl and one of the dinosaurs and brought them to Kauai to complete the scene. The only problem is the beach is only accessible to the public via the ocean, and the ocean is often very rough and dangerous. Luckily, after a month, the conditions became absolutel...y dreamy, and Julian hired my boat captain and we set off. Equipped with a couple soft tops, backpacks, camera, sculptures, we jumped off the back of the boat and paddled to shore. The trip was a great success and the conditions were absolutely perfect. It was Julian's determination, patience, luck, and trust (I did play a role in this) that made it possible for us to go to a place in Kauai that is rarely visited and that place is Kipu Kai. See more
