2020 has been the longest 6 years of my life! Kauai, like the rest of America, has been totally disrupted. We’ll survive. But the future is just so uncertain for EVERYONE. I kinda miss that ‘We’re-in-this-Together camaraderie from the early days... it feels like it’s getting watered down a bit, right? People seem to be frustrated + anxious, maybe a little hopeless. It’s sad to drive around + see all the businesses that are shutting down on our little island. ... We don’t know the future + we don’t have the answers. But remember we are STILL in this together. In the old days, we’d fish for likes by posting something about just loving each other! But that’s an over simplification of how the world really works. Love is great in La La Land, but love AND action is what it really takes! Be good to each other, see who needs help. Lotta jobs disappearing. Lotta peeps confused on what to do next. See who needs a pep talk, or a phone call, or a walk outside, or a cup of coffee. If you’re feeling great, reach out to someone in the dumps. And if you’re in the dumps, reach out to someone who’s worse off, or your neighbor, or us, or that one friend from high school who still cracks you up!
