Nikita used to leave in Haiku with his dog Lucy. He left for work last Monday and cottage he rented was swept away in the flood. Roads were closed, neighbors had to evacuate fast, he could not get back to get documents, passport or anything he owned. Property was flooded and house and cars went down stream. Mahalo to all his friends who showed support, prayers for all people who was affected by this event, if you feel inclined to help here is the link: https://www.gofundme.co...m/f/my-house-floated-away-because-of If you have or know of the place that he can rent with the dog please let us know.

Signs of Spring! Oh how I love Jacarandas, this view is impossible to pant plain air on the road, you can only see it driving in your car- purple tunnel above you and gorgeous tree appearing right in front... Road at this point is narrow on both sides, I’ve checked too many times. Excitement of our very first jacaranda in full bloom was too much not to paint, and I found photo from previous years. Painted with palette knife a la prima, in one setting, spilled out on canvas in every shade of purple blossoms. Untitled yet, but that tree is so recognizable, if you think of Crater road, you would sure remember it.

Aloha Monday What would be more peaceful and powerful to pick up the pace and start new week? Views of heavenly Hana side of the island, remote place that keeps lifestyle and feel of old Hawaii, colors and feel of paradise. 14x11, original oil, available.

Serene View Oil on canvas, original, available. Painting professionally last 30 years, I got my own method or way of living and being artist. I only paint on any piece of I really genuinely want to do this at this moment. That implies that original will have joy, awe, inspiration behind on the canvas when completed. You can’t transfer emotion to viewer if you don’t feel it to start with or while doing all things that go into the painting. It’s hard to keep that vibration t...hat moves you if you like to work with fine details that takes days and weeks if not months to complete pieces. This painting had interesting story: it was started on location at Keawakapu beach on Maui over 15 years ago:) My friends were helping to take care of the dogs of their close friends who live at the beachfront property. I was exited to spend time with them and paint the view from the point that you won’t see unless you are fortunate to live right on the most beautiful beach. Then I went back to all my other things I was doing at the time and piece was just sitting...waiting for me:) Then island got shut down last March and Keawakapu beach became my place, my friend, my everything to nourish, to observe, to come and be quiet and still, to take colors, sounds, breath of ocean in. I made new friends there. I know local characters who walk this beach daily. I saw old friends, all changes that went on last 12 months walking this beach, swimming, doing my little chi kung there. Mana Kai. Mana of the Ocean, breath of it, peace of it, stillness of it, joy of whales jumping in it. I was inspired again and finished the piece. Leo Tolstoy, I was reading him since probably 10 years old thanks to my parents and grandparents home libraries- always was reading and not nesesssarily children sections of it. He wrote about it best:To evoke in oneself a feeling one has once experienced, and having evoked it in oneself, then by means of movements, lines, colors, sounds, or forms expressed in words, so to transmit that feeling that others may experience the same feeling - this is the activity of art. That makes me feel better about tens of paintings that still unfinished:) See more

Waimea Canyon, Kauai Original 16x12, oil on linen, available. There are places of wonder, awe and beauty that are unparalleled, like power points in the grid of highest vibration. They transform and crystallize our connection to the divine on earth. Hawaii is home to a lot of powerful spots, letting us feel through nature that we belong to many different worlds, traveling in space and time.

60 years ago on this day he said poyechali! . It means let’s go, rocketed away from Earth, orbited once, ejected from his spaceship & parachuted to safety. We salute you, Yuri Gagarin. The hero.

Our one season that stands out in bright color, poured over the mountain slopes and stops you to look, gaze, take photo, inhale every shade of new fresh green and purple. We love our signs of springtime upcountry magic trees. Voila, and everything illuminated with vivid colors! Have a great aloha Friday

36x24 oil on canvas Oneness Original, available. There is so much to see and also I don’t want to explain or map out what you look for in it, or answer a question as to what I meant by it. Everything is in, to start- four seasons, changing, 4 elements, shifting, making full cycles, different worlds created and lived in if only by imagination. I love the rhythm of texture and melody of color beneath, it takes me away as music does. It’s Oneness, place inside and outside of us. Like life, it is moment, dissolution of ourself in all others, existence of one and all in time and space.

Work in progress, oil on canvas, 24x20. Untitled yet:) I grew up spending summers outside of Moscow in little village close to Vladimir city, real village with neighbors who lived on that land for generations. That was my place to paint, to grow, help gardening, joining next door babushkas going to forest berries and mushrooms picking. That was amazing part of my year, adventurous, full of beauty, wild nature, river to swim, family fun. I can close my eyes in evening and ...see fields of wild flowers, or red sparkling berries before I fell asleep. It was not normal life of Russian dacha:) my parents managed to buy( which was actually hardly legal at the time) real log cabin with big garden in actual small village in place remote enough not even slightly resemble life we had in the city. It was untouched nature for many years and even now it’s far enough to feel the solitude of true country life. I keep the memories so close to my heart it’s easy to paint it out on canvas. Fields of flowers, laying and watching clouds go by and grass move above your head. Feeling sunlight, colors and sounds of nature. While working on this piece I looked up photo of the poppies just to get detailed look and found the poem and meaning behind red poppies. It was different in meaning and feel to what I infused painting with, but beautiful as sign of remembrance. It never came to my mind before, but makes sense in terms of strength and resemblance of the land I thought of, people and history. It is beautiful how life works, to show us we are all One. One with each other, generations, countries, land, history, Earth. See more

Whisper, 11x14 original oil, linen panel. When they are born, whales are about 5 meters long. They travel with mom for thousands of miles migrating to Antarctic annually. We don’t know much about their journeys really. You can’t follow aquatic animal around all the time to see what is going on. Recently there were recordings of baby whales that used special recorders with suction cups stocked to baby whales ski for about a day, till they fall off. Researchers say that baby whales mostly whisper when they are swimming, comparing to time when they are resting or nursing. May be it helps mother to keep track of little one in murky waters? Sound is very quiet, like baby is whispering so that it won’t be heard by something dangerous nearby. Have a safe journey
