Ok well, life is short and this time with my 5 year old is short so, considering she is still in preschool I said yes. A few weeks ago, my kiddos asked what they should paint for the gallery and at the time it was torrential rain so, what better than rainbows! Maui rainbows! We get to the Gallery today and she decided to set up her own shop with the paintings that she made and that Beau (m...y son 8yrs old) made. So for today, we have a new Gallery greeter- Hello, welcome to my Gallery... will you buy a piece of my art? She is bringing a smile today to some and I hope she does for you all too! I feel blessed to be able to take her to work and share the entrepreneurial life and teach her confidence, patience and the meaning of the dollar! $$$$ Would you like to support? Therefore, the complimentary color of purple against the primary color of yellow becomes candy to the eye. Custom paintings create lifelong memories that touch hearts and souls. This piece will be gifted from the Aunt to the Sister (mom) of these three boys. Two are twins and the middle is older. Three children aren’t easy- I don’t have three all the time but, I am blessed to have a wonderful step-daughter in my life. Interesting enough, I’m the oldest sibling and my father and wonderful step-mom had three boys and my mom and step-dad had one daughter. Point being? Well, I know it... wasn’t easy for my step-mom YET, it’s so amazing to have three boys who ultimately LOVE their mom so much. I’m not saying us girls don’t love our mama’s. Just saying three kids no matter what can be hard but, amazing! To capture this amazing gift from a sister to another is just simply bottom of the heart heartless and so beautiful. I was honored that this client chose me to capture this moment where she has spent moments with these boys at this arboretum. Who loves Upcountry Maui? I know I do! I can’t get enough of the air, the light, the constant shift of light mostly due to the low bearing cumulus clouds shifting so quickly reminding us that we are on an Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean! Is it hard for you to TRUST? After the art sale, 90% of the time, the responsibility lays on me to get it to my clients home or work in one piece safe and sound. It’s a baby... a most special and sacred object that is more than an object. Packing and shipping is an ART in itself. I am honored that not only do my clients continue to purchase, commission but, also trust me to pack and ship them their paintings. I do this for two reasons: 1. Because I can trust my process and ta...ke accountability. 2. Have you ever gone to a packing and shipping store? Well, it costs a LOT! So, it’s another courtesy I try to pass on to my clients... (I don’t know how long I’ll be able to continue as it’s a work out! ) but, for the now, my shipping charges are nominal in comparison. Plus, it’s just not cheap to ship from Hawaii! Dreams can come true. These wonderful clients came in and saw the two pieces (swipe right) and then decided to ask about putting the two together with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. They luckily were on island for a bit, so I was able to extend the courtesy for them to come up to the Gallery to watch their piece get finished! It was so fun! What a story!!! You don’t want to miss this! 12 years ago I was commissioned to paint a wedding en plein air (at the spot while the wedding was happening) to capture this special moment for their daughter as a wedding present. This scene is from the Four Seasons Resort at Manele Bay on Lana’i. Fast forward about 10 years later and as I’m new to IG I’m still trying to thank my new followers personally. This specific new follower told me how she is watching a child and he c...hose to do a report just a day ago about the painting of his parents and the artist! Aka: me! .... What an honor! I couldn’t even believe how sweet it was to hear this and READ the words out of a child’s heart and mind. Swipe right to see his letter. I am so happy to see that my painting can make such a difference within a family’s life seriously passing down even the idea of importance of art to generations to come. The mom also reached out and shared how important this piece of work was for her family and now, how she would like to give back and commission a piece for her parents. These people are so lovely and It brought happy tears to the mom (and me ) that now she can give something so meaningful back to her parents at this stage of her life. Her family has grown to three children and it’s amazing how much this piece has captured the beginning of their story together. 15x15 Unframed/17.5x17.5 champagne floater frame. Anyone else love sunsets on the ocean as much as me??? I think it’s seriously one of my favorite experiences... here is the moment approx 2-5 min before the actual sun is setting. Sometimes it creates this glow right on the horizon! Anyone know what I mean? Gold leaf is used for the sunset and the glimmer off the oceans/sky horizon changing as the sun hits the painting.
