As a continuation of hiarchy's anniversary month, today we'll take a look at how much of impact a single person can make on water conservation within 14 years. Did you know it takes approximately 1.85 gallons of water to produce just 1 plastic bottle. In order to achieve the recommended water consumption amount, the average man would have to go through 2,246 plastic water bottles every year. Remember how much water it takes just to produce one of these! Now let’s look at it i...n a span of 14 years. By cutting out plastic water bottles and opting for reusable containers, one person would save 49,223 gallons of water! Implementing features that enhance drinking water quality, incentivize reusable water containers, and support decisions in health and wellness, are just a few simple ways we can modify our built environments to reduce the number plastic bottles and conserve the water it takes to produce them. #hiarchyanniversarymonth #14yearsold #greenbuildinghawaii #sustainability
