Garden Island Orchid Society

The cookbook has been sent to the publisher and we should receive it early next year, in plenty of time before the Spring Show!

The next General Meeting is scheduled for December 7, 2019, at the United Church of Christ in Hanapepe. The doors will open at 6:00 pm for the December Holiday celebration meeting, and the potluck will begin shortly thereafter. Please bring a dish that you would like to share. Everyone is so generous we usually have lots of leftovers, so bring a container if you would like to take some home! We will be collecting canned goods to donate to the Independent Food Bank. We are asking you to donate only canned goods this year, as they will be easier for us to transport to the food bank.

Members!!! Please bring your favorite recipes to the meeting this Friday so they can be included in our 2nd Edition Cookbook. All members are encouraged to participate. This will be a major fund raising event for the Society.

The next General Meeting is scheduled for October 11, 2019, at the United Church of Christ in Hanapepe beginning at 6:00 pm. The meeting will start with a business meeting which includes approving the slate for our next two year term for officers and Chairs. We will then have a Learning Center talk by Al Sugano. After refreshments, we will hold a repotting clinic. For the re-potting clinic, members can bring two plants, tools, pots, and a small box to work in. The Society will provide the medium. Also, please bring a blooming orchid for the display table to receive a free keiki orchid.

Working on our new GIOS Cookbook and it is making me hungry! So many ono recipes our members are sharing.
