The magic that lies within a daily or consistent yoga practice is undeniable and such a gift and this week we enjoyed just that. These women and students have made so much progress these past 5 days and each showed up to the mat with so much dedication, curiosity, and heart. Really going to miss our daily practices and meditations together once the retreat ends in Aspen this week. We enjoyed a little restorative yoga moment this morning. Letting our breath, body, mind, and ...nervous system cool, calm, and quiet down after a great practice and morning of breaking down plank and chaturanga dandasana together. So thankful for such a fantastic group and wonderful retreat here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. What a day! Happily exhausted after an incredible and full day on retreat. After we enjoyed 3 hours of morning meditation and yoga we had a late breakfast and then got out for an adventurous 18 mile bike ride up to the Maroon Bells riding in rain, hail, and finally snow. Coldest ride I’ve done in awhile and also the most beautiful, we had the Maroon Bells all to ourselves. Can’t ask for a better day of yoga and adventure! ... It’s all love. If we reduce the energy and intention behind the power the comeback movement and campaign, it really all boils down to love, caring, and compassion for others and for our communities on a deep level. And a big part of my Why is sitting right here next to me. My mom, my family. I got my second vaccination and dose two weeks ago on April 15th so that I can do my part to help end Covid, help lookout for those who are more vulnerable in our families and communitie...s, to look out for those I work with and teach, and to help give us hope as we power the comeback. Getting the vaccination wasn’t a hard decision for me, all I had to do was picture and imagine my parents, my students, those I work with, and those I care so much about like my friends, my community at home on Kaua’i, and for that matter, just imagine and think about my community and family around the world. While I’m glad we all have freedom of choice to make these decisions for ourselves, I’m also glad and grateful for science and for all of the doctors and scientists who worked hard for us all to create a safe solution to stop Covid and end this Pandemic.
