Please join us in wishing us Dolores Foley the best of luck in her retirement. DURP will be hosting a potluck gathering in honor of her retirement on April 27, from 4:30-7:00 pm at Saunders Hall.

Shout out to DURP's Chair, Professor Makena Coffman. In the Honolulu Star-Advertiser profile of her last month she told it straight: "Policy-making in response ...to climate change is needed urgently now, not later. For example, the Hawaii Sea Level report projected that with 3 feet of sea level rise on Oahu, 18 miles of coastal roads will become impassable and 13,000 residents will be displaced. And if we continue to build seawalls in an attempt to save property, many miles of beaches will be forever lost." See more
